🎄 Luxury Austrian Christmas Gift Hamper – 16" 🎁
Our Largest Austrian Christmas Hamper
Two bottles of Austrian wine, a whole 18cm Linzer Torte, our handmade Lebkuchen and a bag of Christmas cookies, and the full Austrian pantry alongside them — pumpkin seed oil, Viennese coffee, Staud's jam, two Austrian mustards and two packs of Manner wafers, with an Almdudler for good measure.
This is the one to send to the people who matter: the client you want to keep, the family who hosted you, the parents who would never buy any of it for themselves. It arrives in a 16" wicker hamper, packed by hand in Islington.
We import our wines directly from small family producers in Austria and they are sold nowhere else in the UK. Three pairings to choose from.
Hamper contents — at a glance
In every 16" hamper:
- 1 × Linzer Torte, 18cm — handmade in our bakery in Islington
- 1 × Kipferl Lebkuchen Mix — handmade Austrian gingerbread
- 1 × Kipferl Austrian Christmas Cookies (Weihnachtskekserl)
- 1 × Styrian pumpkin seed oil, 0.25l (Steirisches Kürbiskernöl PGI)
- 1 × Helmut Sacher's Viennese-style coffee, 250g
- 1 × Staud's Austrian jam
- 2 × Mautner Markhof Austrian mustard
- 2 × Manner Schnitten hazelnut wafers
- 1 × Almdudler — Austria's herbal lemonade
Plus two bottles of Austrian wine, depending on which pairing you choose:
- Red & White — Grüner Veltliner DAC and K&K Cuvée red
- Fine Red & White — Blaufränkisch Gold Reserve and Grüner Veltliner Reserve “Ried Gaisberg”
- Christmas Sparkling — Grüner Veltliner Reserve Sekt (Zuschmann-Schöfmann) and Rosé Sekt (Matthias Hager)
The three wine pairings
Red & White. A classical Grüner Veltliner DAC — Austria's national white grape, crisp and gently peppery — alongside the K&K Cuvée from Kirnbauer, one of the country's most respected red-wine houses.
Fine Red & White. A step up on both sides: Blaufränkisch Gold Reserve, Kirnbauer's serious red from Mittelburgenland, and the single-vineyard Grüner Veltliner Reserve “Ried Gaisberg” from Weixelbaum. The pairing to send when you want it noticed.
Christmas Sparkling. Two Sekts — a Grüner Veltliner Reserve Sekt from Zuschmann-Schöfmann and a Rosé Sekt from Matthias Hager in the Kamptal. For a household that will be opening bottles between Christmas and New Year.
What else is inside, and why
Linzer Torte — from Linz, and claimed as the oldest named cake in the world, with a recipe written down in 1653. A short almond pastry with redcurrant jam, cinnamon and cloves: crunchier and spicier than our other cakes, and at its best in December.
Kipferl Lebkuchen Mix — our own gingerbread, a mix of Basler Lebkuchen, chocolate-coated and ganache, rolled and iced in small batches in Islington.
Christmas cookies — ten handmade Weihnachtskekserl: Vanillekipferl, Linzer Augen, Husaren, Ischler and Kokosbusserl.
Steirisches Kürbiskernöl PGI — the dark green Styrian pumpkin seed oil with protected origin status.
Helmut Sacher's Kaffee — Viennese-style highland Arabica, small-batch roasted near Vienna.
Staud's — Vienna's traditional jam-maker since 1883.
Mautner Markhof — on Viennese tables since 1841.
Manner — Vienna's pink-wrapped wafer icon since 1898.
Almdudler — Austria's herbal lemonade, first mixed in 1957.
Dietary and Allergen Advice
From our own bakery:
- Linzer Torte — contains gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts (almonds).
- Kipferl Lebkuchen Mix — contains gluten, eggs, nuts, dairy, soy.
- Austrian Christmas Cookies — contains nuts, eggs, gluten, milk.
Bought-in Austrian items: the Manner wafers contain gluten, milk, soy and nuts (hazelnut); the mustard contains mustard; the wines contain sulphites. The pumpkin seed oil, coffee, jam and Almdudler carry their own allergen labelling on the pack, and full ingredient lists are on their individual product pages.
Please note that all our baked products are made fresh in our little bakery in Islington, where we handle ingredients used across the whole range. While we do everything possible to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, we are a very small operation without fully separated production lines, so cross-contamination cannot be completely excluded.
In our bakery we use products containing allergens like dairy, nuts, gluten (wheat), egg, sulphites and soya.
If your allergy is severe, please consider carefully whether you choose to consume our food. If you want to be 100% safe, the only option is not to consume any of our products.
