A Small Taste of an Austrian Christmas
Not every Christmas gift needs to be grand. The neighbour who takes the parcels in. The colleague who covers the rota between Christmas and New Year. A friend you won't see again until January.
Our Small Austrian Christmas Gift Hamper is made for exactly those. Six pieces of the Austrian pantry and our own bakery, packed into a wicker hamper and sent straight to whoever you would like to spoil — no fillers, no shredded paper padding out the middle.
Choose the baked heart of it: our handmade Austrian Christmas Cookies, the Weihnachtskekserl every Austrian family bakes in December, or our Lebkuchen Mix, soft spiced gingerbread rolled and iced in our bakery in Islington. Everything else stays the same.
There is no alcohol in this hamper, which makes it an easy send when you are not sure — to an office, to a family with children, or to anyone who simply does not drink.

- 1 × Styrian pumpkin seed oil, 0.25l (Steirisches Kürbiskernöl PGI)
- 1 × Helmut Sacher's Viennese-style coffee, 250g
- 1 × Staud's Austrian jam
- 1 × Almdudler — Austria's herbal lemonade
- 1 × Manner Schnitten hazelnut wafers
Plus, depending on the version you choose:
- Christmas Cookies — 1 × Kipferl Austrian Christmas Cookies (Weihnachtskekserl), handmade in our bakery in Islington
- Gingerbread Mix — 1 × Kipferl Lebkuchen Mix, handmade Austrian gingerbread
What's inside, and why
Our own Christmas baking — made by hand in our bakery in Islington. The Weihnachtskekserl are the biscuits we grew up with; the Lebkuchen is softer and more aromatic than English gingerbread.
Steirisches Kürbiskernöl PGI — the dark green Styrian pumpkin seed oil with protected origin status. Austrians drizzle it over salad, pumpkin soup, and, surprisingly well, vanilla ice cream.
Helmut Sacher's Kaffee — Viennese-style highland Arabica, small-batch roasted near Vienna, for a proper Wiener Melange at home.
Staud's — Vienna's traditional jam-maker since 1883. Fruit picked at peak ripeness, gently set without thickeners.
Almdudler — Austria's herbal lemonade, first mixed in 1957 and loved by skiers and grandmothers in equal measure.
Manner — Vienna's pink-wrapped wafer icon since 1898, still made just behind St Stephen's Cathedral.
Dietary and Allergen Advice
Our own baked items:
- Austrian Christmas Cookies — contains nuts, eggs, gluten, milk.
- Kipferl Lebkuchen Mix — contains gluten, eggs, nuts, dairy, soy.
The bought-in Austrian items — the pumpkin seed oil, coffee, jam, Almdudler and Manner wafers — carry their own allergen labelling on the pack. Full ingredient lists for each are on their own product pages, and the Manner wafers contain gluten, milk, soy and nuts (hazelnut).
Please note that all our baked products are made fresh in our little bakery in Islington, where we handle ingredients used across the whole range. While we do everything possible to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, we are a very small operation without fully separated production lines, so cross-contamination cannot be completely excluded.
In our bakery we use products containing allergens like dairy, nuts, gluten (wheat), egg, sulphites and soya.
If your allergy is severe, please consider carefully whether you choose to consume our food. If you want to be 100% safe, the only option is not to consume any of our products.

Delivery & presentation
Presented in a wicker hamper, finished with ribbon and sent directly to the recipient — nothing to unpack or re-wrap at your end. No prices appear on the packaging.
Add a personalised message card at checkout. Delivered UK-wide by courier on a date you choose, and same-day in London on orders placed before 12:00.
Christmas is our busiest season and the hampers are packed in small numbers. If you are sending for a particular date, order early rather than late.
Frequently asked
Can I send it straight to the recipient? Yes — enter their address at checkout. No prices appear on the packaging.
Can I add a personal message? Yes — we offer a handwritten gift card (£3.50) that can be added to your order.
Can I change what goes in it? Yes — email shop@kipferl.co.uk before ordering and we will put something together for you.
Is there any alcohol in it? No — this hamper is alcohol-free. If you would like wine included, our larger Christmas hampers all come with a bottle.
How long do the items keep? The pantry items keep for months. The cookies and Lebkuchen are best within two to three weeks.
Will the contents change? Occasionally. If something sells out over the season we replace it with an Austrian item of the same value. Email us if you want to check before ordering.

All our cakes are made fresh to order in our London kitchen and have at least 3 days shelf life when they arrive. Less creamy ones like the Linzer or Sachertorte will last even longer (over 6 days)

Once the temperature rises over the summer months in the UK, we begin to send ice packs in parcels to keep cakes cool.

Most of our cakes can be frozen as a whole or in pieces. We do not recommend freezing the creamy cakes like Esterhazy, Maronitorte and Cheesecake though.

Yes, please refrigerate all cakes to ensure they stay fresh for as long as possible.
