Riesling Alte Reben 2017, Matthias Hager, Austrian White Wine, biodynamic
Matthias Hager, Mollands, Kamptal
This Riesling by Matthias Hager, progressive biodynamic winegrower in Mollands in the Kamptal, is from old vines, planted in the 1960s, producing small but high-quality quantities of grapes, full of flavour. The wine went through natural fermentation. Like with his Gruener Veltliner Urgestein 10% of the grapes were fermented on the skin and aged in old oak, 90% spontaneously in steel, resulting in a complex, rich, and mineral Riesling. Drink now or leave for further aging.
Great with a Moroccan Chicken or a Tagine.
