Caprese Torte - Almond Cake (Gluten Free)
Caprese Torte - a glutenfree Cake legend from Naples to Austria
Legend has it that the king of Naples who was about to marry an Austrian princess wanted to impress his bride with a "Sachertorte", but his pastry chefs weren't quite aware of the original recipe, and instead used local ingredients like ground almonds to bake the cake. It was an immediate hit and quickly found its way back to the Princess' home country in the Austrian Empire, where it is a staple in all "Konditoreien" until today. And it is gluten free!
Lots of chocolate, ground almonds and no wheat flour, make it a juicy and irresistible sweet temptation. (Gluten-free / Wheat free)
