A Creamy Dream from Budapest - Gluten Free Esterhazytorte

Invented by Budapest confectioners in the late 19th century and named after the famous noble family Esterhazy, this creamy and nutty delight soon became one of the most famous cakes in the lands of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

Seven layers of crunchy dough filled with moist and nutty buttercream, making it the most smooth and rich cake in our range of authentic, handmade cakes.

Our Esterhazy cake is also a gluten free Esterhazytorte! So if you have particular allergen requirements, this is the best (and certainly most delicious) wheat free cake for you.

Please note that all our products are made fresh in our little bakery in Islington, where we handle ingredients that are used to make all our products. While we do everything possible to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, we still have a very small operation and do not have fully separated production lines, so cross-contamination of ingredients cannot be completely excluded.

In our bakery we use products containing allergens like dairy, nuts, gluten (wheat), egg, sulphites and soya.

Filling; milk, sugar, custard powder (Maize starch [gluten-free], salt, flavouring, colour (annatto) - may contain milk), egg yolk pasteurized (Egg yolk from chicken, acidity regulator (citric acid), preservative (potassium sorbate), water), icing sugar, water, flaked almonds, red currant jam (Sugar, red currants, water, gelling agent pectin, acid citric acid, preservative potassium sorbate), dark chocolate (cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier: soy lecithins, natural vanilla flavouring); white chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, milk powder, emulsifier: soy lecithin, natural vanilla flavouring)

"I ordered an Esterhazytorte cake which arrived on time - unfortunately damaged in transit. A quick call to explain that this was for a birthday surprise in two days' time resulted in a very kind Ben offering to send another post haste - which arrived in time -but also damaged. I think that the decorated topping is not sufficiently DPD proof and clearly requires careful handling. Kipferl did their best and with sufficient candles to disguise the damage on the least affected cake ,all was well -this cake tasted just as it should and the other one was donated to the teachers of the local primary school . This was very well received. In short, a delicious cake!"
