Colours of Austria - Austrian Wine Box
Three different colours: White- Red - Orange. A colourful little trip through the Austrian winemaking regions.
Hollötrio Gruener Veltliner, Bauer,1 Litre:
Our first wines from the Wagram wine region on the Danube west of Vienna and one of three new orange wines in our portfolio. Organic, unfiltered and natural. One part of the Grüner Veltliner grapes, that go into Hollötrio are pressed after a short time on the skins and one part is left for 3 weeks on the skins, then blended. After 4 months of maturation the wine is bottled, unfiltered. Apple and light tannic grip typical for orange wines, with some peach-maracuja mix, lime and melon and a touch of green pepper. Perfect for a BBQ or a party.
Rotgipfler "Brindlbach", Biegler
A natural cross between the aromatic Traminer and Roter Veltliner this extremely rare indigenous grape variety is typical for the picturesque white wine village Gumpoldskirchen in the Thermenregion south of Vienna, gaining DAC appellation status only recently. Rotgipfler white wine with lots of tropical fruit, banana and mango aroma, off-dry, perfectly balanced, elegant and complex on the finish.
Zweigelt Neusiedlersee (Markus Iro):
Indigenous Austrian grape variety, after handpicking and 12 days on the skins then aged in large used oak, Iro’s Zweigelt features typical dark cherry notes, forest berries, liquorice and spices, juicy and elegant and rounded off with fine tannins.
