Grüner Veltliner Anno Dazumal, Weingut Weixelbaum
Heinz Weixelbaum releases his Grüner Veltliner Dazumal only in exceptional years. The grapes are hand harvested and selected from over 60 year old vines in the Offenberg vineyard at the bottom of the famous Gaisberg. The wine ferments and is left on its fine lees in small 500l barriques before ageing in larger oak barrels for an exceptional further 18 months. Ripe and elegant, tropical fruit, apricot and almonds, complex and long finish. This exceptional wine will age well and it benefits from decanting. Anno Dazumal means ‘like in the old days’ referring to its long fermentation and ageing periods, ‘Giving it time to ripen and develop’ as Heinz says.

All our cakes are made fresh to order in our London kitchen and have at least 3 days shelf life when they arrive. Less creamy ones like the Linzer or Sachertorte will last even longer (over 6 days)

Once the temperature rises over the summer months in the UK, we begin to send ice packs in parcels to keep cakes cool.

Most of our cakes can be frozen as a whole or in pieces. We do not recommend freezing the creamy cakes like Esterhazy, Maronitorte and Cheesecake though.
