Our The three little Austrians box is an introduction to Austrian wine and contains the following 3 wines: Grüner Veltliner Reserve Ried Gaisberg (Weixelbaum), Zweigelt Rubin Carnuntum (Netzl) and Grüner Veltliner Stephanus (Weixelbaum). Perfect as a gift and to introduce someone to Austrian wine. Prost!
Zweigelt Rubin Carnuntum: Zweigelt is the signature grape for the wine region Carnuntum, named after the major Roman settlement, East of Vienna. Only Zweigelt meeting strict quality criteria can be named Rubin Carnuntum. Dark cherry, peppery spice, juicy, elegant and with soft tannins, this is a charming and characterful Zweigelt. Goes well with beef, lamb and game.
Grüner Veltliner Reserve Ried Gaisberg: ‘Erste Lage’ / Premier Cru single vineyard Grüner Veltliner, powerful and mineral, hints of orange zest and peach and apricot. Complex and rich, fine acidity, off-dry, good ageing potential. Fantastic with rich fish or veal dishes. One of the best ‘Grüners’ that we have at Kipferl.
Grüner Veltliner Stephanus: Weixelbaum's house Grüner Veltliner, with typical citrus and apple notes, crisp and fresh. Austrian summer in a glass!
